Corendon Airlines, the first airline company to initiate the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Antalya, was deemed worthy of an award within the scope of the 2025 Sustainability Leaders Awards thanks to its tangible sustainability practices.
Organised for the third time this year by InBusiness Magazine, the monthly economics publication of the Turkuvaz Media Group, the Sustainability Leaders Awards found their recipients at a ceremony held on 15 December 2025 at the Turkuvaz Media Centre. Corendon Airlines, the airline of firsts, was among the institutions receiving awards for its sustainable products and practices. As a result of the evaluation conducted by a jury consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change and editors of InBusiness Magazine; Corendon Airlines’ initiation of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) use at Antalya Airport, its goal to scale this practice, and its support for the IATA Fly Net Zero 2050 commitment were cited as the reasons for the award.

With the steps it has taken in the field of sustainable aviation, setting an example for both the sector and the Turkish economy, Corendon Airlines integrated SAF fuel into its operations in 2024, starting from Fraport TAV Antalya Airport in cooperation with the Petrol Ofisi Group; thereby delivering one of the exemplary practices aimed at reducing environmental impact in Türkiye’s aviation sector.
Commenting on the award, Corendon Airlines Flight Operations Engineering Manager Gökmen Düzgören said: “Sustainability, for Corendon Airlines, is not only a vision but a concrete responsibility that is reflected in our operations. The SAF fuel application that we implemented starting from Antalya Airport in 2024 being crowned today with the Sustainability Leaders Award is an important indication that we are moving in the right direction. In the coming period, we will resolutely continue our steps to reduce environmental impact in the aviation sector by increasing the use of SAF.”
