YouTuber Nedim Kuru announced that during a drone-assisted dive in the Sea of Marmara, he reached parts that he believes belong to an aircraft named “Bursa” that crashed 50 years ago. Emphasising that the 42 people who lost their lives in the crash are still under the sea, Kuru called on the authorities to take action.
A striking claim has come to the agenda regarding an aircraft accident in the Sea of Marmara that has preserved its mystery for nearly half a century. YouTuber Nedim Kuru stated that during a drone-assisted dive he carried out, he reached parts that he believes belong to an aircraft that crashed 50 years ago and has not been recovered to this day.
Kuru said that he has strong suspicions that a large, folded aluminium piece he detected during the dive belongs to the aircraft wreck. Saying, “The aircraft named Bursa, which crashed 50 years ago, remained right at this point at the bottom of the Sea of Marmara together with its passengers,” Kuru stated that the wreckage is spread over a wide area.
“42 Passengers Are Still Under the Sea”
Underlining that the accident was a major tragedy, Nedim Kuru said, “A total of 42 people are unfortunately still waiting under the Sea of Marmara. The wreckage remains in place.” Kuru also reminded that there were well-known public figures among the passengers on board the aircraft.
Providing information about the accident, Kuru stated that Kamuran Aksu, the father-in-law of renowned coach Fatih Terim, and the sister of artist Seyyal Taner, who was working as a flight attendant, were also on board the aircraft. He noted that the wreckage could not be recovered in 1975 due to inadequate technological capabilities.
Call to the Authorities: “It Must Be Officially Identified”
Announcing that he plans to dive in the area again in the coming days, Nedim Kuru called on the authorities, stating that the aircraft wreckage should be officially identified and recovered from the sea. Kuru also said that building a memorial tomb in Yeşilköy in memory of the passengers who lost their lives would be meaningful.
