Child Abduction Attempt Foiled at Airport!

A 36-year-old Iraqi father attempted to travel to Iran with his three children without their mother’s permission but was stopped by federal police. The incident occurred on Tuesday at Cologne/Bonn Airport.

The man and his children initially passed through airport security without any issues. However, the situation changed when the children repeatedly called out to their mother in Arabic. An alert staff member heard the calls and notified the Federal Police.

Federal Police Acted Swiftly

The Federal Police immediately launched an investigation and confirmed the suspicions: the father, who lives in the Netherlands, was attempting to take the children abroad without the mother’s consent. Further investigation revealed that the 13-year-old son had been living with his father for a month. The couple’s two daughters, aged ten and eight, were living with their 32-year-old mother, who also resides in the Netherlands.

Fake Consent Declaration

It was discovered that the father had deceived the mother into signing a supposed permission slip for a doctor’s visit. He then used this document as a fake consent declaration for his travel plans with the children.

Plan Stopped in Time

Fortunately, the plan was stopped in time: the children were reunited with their mother that evening. The father now faces charges of child abduction and falsification of documents.
