An Airbus A320-200, registered SU-SKC and operated by Sky Vision Airlines, was on flight NE-130 from Cairo to Taif, Saudi Arabia. While cruising over the Red Sea at FL310, approximately 150 nautical miles northwest of Jeddah, the first officer announced to the passengers via the in-flight PA system that the captain had just passed away and that they would need to land in Jeddah instead of Taif.
The aircraft made a safe landing in Jeddah about 30 minutes later.
Sky Vision Airlines is a private airline based in Egypt.
