Boeing (BA) is down 7% YTD while NVIDIA (NVDA) already priced China at zero, making Boeing the cleaner binary trade on the Trump-Xi summit.
CFO Colette Kress confirmed China data center compute is entirely excluded from NVIDIA's forward outlook, making any summit chip deal merely incremental upside.
Chinese airlines were historically major Boeing customers, so any order resumption flows directly into a record $597B commercial backlog of 6,200+ aircraft.

Boeing (NYSE: BA) and NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) both filed quarterly reports ahead of the Trump-Xi summit with heavy China exposure. Boeing awaits aircraft orders Beijing can unlock. NVIDIA already stripped China data center compute from its forward outlook. That gap defines which name is a genuine binary trade into the summit.
Boeing's Q2 2026 was a turnaround signal. Revenue hit $24.56B, up 8.0% YoY, deliveries reached 171, the highest quarterly total since 2018, and free cash flow swung to positive $631M. Core EPS still printed a loss of $0.76, missing consensus, and the VC-25B presidential jet took another $280M charge. CEO Kelly Ortberg said "the momentum that we've built in the first half of this year is setting us up for more dependable performance". Backlog now sits at a record $715B.
NVIDIA delivered a different animal. Revenue of $96.22B more than doubled YoY, Data Center revenue reached $89.02B, up 117%, and non-GAAP EPS of $2.22 beat consensus for the fifth straight quarter. Jensen Huang told investors "AI has reached its inflection point" and confirmed Vera Rubin is in full production. The catch: NVIDIA is supply-constrained, guiding fiscal 2028 growth to approximately 70% only because capacity is capped.
