Baykar preserved its leadership in the global armed UAV market with USD 2.2 billion in exports in 2025. The export champion of the Turkish defence industry, Baykar continued its global success.
Baykar, Türkiye’s leading company in national and indigenous defence technologies, once again maintained its leadership in the global armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) market with exports amounting to USD 2.2 billion in 2025.
According to a statement by Baykar, the company succeeded in becoming the world’s largest exporter in the unmanned aerial vehicle segment in which it operates for the third consecutive year. Developing air platforms that have gained global recognition, Baykar also ranked among the driving forces of Türkiye’s high-technology exports.
Renewed Its Own Record
Holding the leading position in the global armed UAV market for the past three years, Baykar also renewed its own record with the USD 2.2 billion export volume it achieved in 2025. In 2024, the company generated total revenues of USD 2.5 billion, with 88 per cent of this income coming from exports.
According to data announced at the 5th Global Strategies Conference in the Defence and Aviation Industry organised by the Presidency of Defence Industries, Baykar ranked second among the export champions of the Turkish defence industry, while continuing its clear leadership in unmanned aerial vehicle exports.
Champion of Exports
Baykar, which carries out all its projects using its own resources, has generated 83 per cent of its revenues from exports since it launched its UAV R&D process in 2003.
Achieving USD 1.8 billion in exports in 2023, Baykar entered the top 10 exporting companies across all sectors in Türkiye. The company maintained its global success in 2024 as well, generating 90 per cent of its revenues from exports.
According to data from the Presidency of Defence Industries and the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Baykar became the export leader of the defence and aviation sector in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, and was awarded the “Champions of Exports” title in 2023 and 2024.
Türkiye’s Strength in the Global Armed UAV Market
Accounting for one third of the sector’s exports on its own in 2023, Baykar carried out one quarter of the total exports of the defence and aviation sector in 2024, elevating Türkiye to a leading position in the global armed UAV export market.
Baykar, the world’s largest unmanned aerial vehicle company, has signed export agreements with a total of 37 countries:
- 36 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 Armed UAV
- 16 countries for the Bayraktar AKINCI Heavy Attack UAV
