Turkey’s Top Taxpayers Announced: Baykar Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar Tops the List
The Revenue Administration (GİB) has announced Turkey’s top 100 taxpayers for 2024. Leading the list are the executives of unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturer Baykar, Selçuk Bayraktar and Haluk Bayraktar.
Tax Record by the Bayraktar Brothers
Baykar Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar claimed the top spot with 2.76 billion TL (84 million USD) in income tax paid. Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar ranked second, paying 2.53 billion TL (77 million USD) in taxes.
The Bayraktar brothers have consistently appeared at the top of the list for four consecutive years, reflecting the company’s rapid growth in export revenues.
Export Success Reflected in Tax Contributions
Baykar, a leading exporter in Turkey’s defense and aviation sector, generated 90% of its revenue from exports in 2024. With exports reaching 1.8 billion USD, the company entered Turkey’s top 10 exporters for the second consecutive year.
The company’s tax performance has risen in parallel with its export achievements. The tax amounts paid by the executives have increased approximately 18-fold since 2021.
