Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) President Gürsel Baran held an important meeting with Esas Holding Chairman of the Board and Pegasus Airlines Board Member Ali İsmail Sabancı, bringing the increase of direct international flights from Ankara onto the agenda. During the meeting, it was emphasised that the rapidly growing potential of the capital Ankara in the fields of industry, technology, defence, health and tourism should be supported with stronger international air connections.
Officials stated that each new direct flight to be launched from Ankara would:
- Increase the foreign trade capacity of the business world,
- Directly contribute to tourism revenues,
- Make the city a more attractive centre for international investors.
ATO President Gürsel Baran expressed that they would welcome Pegasus’s new international route plans for Ankara, saying, “I would like to thank Mr Ali İsmail Sabancı for his interest and support regarding the matter.”
