Luxembourg–US and China Atlas Air Cargo Routes Launched
American cargo airline Atlas Air has resumed flights from Luxembourg Findel Airport after halting operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the beginning of this month, the airline has been operating four flights per week from Findel using its Boeing 777F, which entered service in 2023. Two weekly flights carry cargo to Huntsville, Alabama (USA), while the other two serve Zhengzhou, China.
This development highlights the growing number of cargo airlines now operating between Luxembourg and China. Cargolux and China’s state-owned China Postal also run regular services between the two countries. In addition, Atlas Air provides global charter flights for special cargo, including commercial goods, heavy machinery, and hazardous materials.
In early 2023, Atlas Air expanded its long-standing cargo capacity with the introduction of the Boeing 747-8. Boeing ended production of the 747 series in 2022, concluding more than 50 years of manufacturing.
