Are Turkish Airlines Executives’ Salaries a Scandal? Bilal Yıldız’s Statements Rock the Headlines

Turkish Airlines (THY) employees’ salaries are making waves with striking allegations. Former THY Inspector Bilal Yıldız’s statements have opened discussions about the high salaries of top executives at the airline company. Yıldız criticized the high salaries given to the general manager and top executives by sharing details about THY’s internal workings and financial structure.

According to Yıldız’s claims, THY General Manager Bilal Ekşi’s gross salary is 1.4 million Turkish Lira, and employees receive 16 salaries per year. Consequently, the net salary is stated to be 1.4 million Turkish Lira. Additionally, it is noted that the salaries of eight deputy general managers are 90% of this figure, at 1.26 million Turkish Lira, the salaries of forty-one presidents are 50% of the gross salary, at 700,000 Turkish Lira, the salaries of fifty-three vice presidents are 35% of the gross salary, at 490,000 Turkish Lira, and the salaries of hundreds of directors are around 25% of the gross salary, at 350,000 Turkish Lira.

Bilal Yıldız claimed that according to THY’s latest activity report, it has 9 subsidiaries and 9 affiliated companies, while THY General Manager Bilal Ekşi also receives a per diem from two additional companies.

The THY management, which has not made any statements on the matter, did not confirm Yıldız’s allegations.
