Historic Record at Istanbul and Antalya Airports: Over 510,000 Passengers in a Single Day

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that on 2 August 2025, both Istanbul and Antalya airports broke all-time records in passenger and flight traffic. Turkey has now secured its position at the top of European aviation.

In a written statement, Minister Uraloğlu stated that Istanbul Airport set a new record not only for Turkey but also for Europe, reaching the highest ever recorded figures with 282,070 passengers and 1,698 flights in a single day.

Antalya Airport Also Hits the Peak

Uraloğlu also reported record-breaking activity at Antalya Airport on the same day, sharing the following details:

“On 2 August, there were 1,225 flights at Antalya Airport. With 228,427 passengers in a single day, the airport reached its highest passenger number of all time.”

With these figures, over 510,000 passengers were served at just two airports in one day, once again confirming Turkey’s operational strength in civil aviation.
