Critical Subsystem for KAAN Enters Production Phase
Turkish defence industry company Altınay Defence Technologies announced that it has completed the design process of the pneumatic munition release system developed for KAAN and has moved to the production phase.
In the statement made by the company, it was noted that the system will serve as a critical subsystem within the munition integration infrastructure of Türkiye’s fifth-generation fighter jet KAAN.

Burak Mercan, Chief Executive Officer of Altınay Defence Technologies, stated that the work carried out within the scope of the KAAN project has reached an important stage for the company.
In his statement, Mercan said:
“We are proud to move from the design phase to the production phase in the pneumatic munition release systems of the National Combat Aircraft KAAN.”
Iron Bird Test Infrastructure in Acceptance Phase
Mercan also announced that the Iron Bird test system, considered one of the most complex test infrastructures in the aviation industry, has been completed and brought to the acceptance stage.
The Iron Bird infrastructure stands out as a critical engineering platform that enables avionics and mechanical systems used in fighter aircraft to be tested in an environment close to real flight conditions. Thanks to this infrastructure, the integration and performance verification of systems can be carried out in detail before the flight stage.
Technological Independence with Indigenous Subsystems
Altınay Defence Technologies aims to strengthen Türkiye’s technological independence in the defence industry through indigenous subsystems developed for land, air and naval platforms.
