For obvious reasons, Florida is vital to Allegiant Air. According to the ultra-low-cost carrier’s schedule submission to OAG, a median of 224 daily round-trip services will involve the Sunshine State between June and September 2026. 61% of the airline’s total flights will be to, from, or within Florida, with 12 airports served.
Allegiant’s generally older aircraft do not have to be used as intensively as newer frames. This enables the carrier to focus on days of the week that are more in demand and, therefore, it doesn’t have to discount even more heavily to fill its aircraft. In the four-month period, the airline’s Florida services will vary from a high of 343 services on some Fridays to a low of just 14 on particular Tuesdays.
OAG indicates that Allegiant plans a total of 26,060 flights to, from, and within Florida between June and September 2026. Compared to the same period last year, services have fallen marginally. They’re down from 26,200, which is a drop of half a percentage point. Not much, but a reduction nonetheless. The cessation of many routes contributed.
With almost 7% of all Florida-US flights, Allegiant is the state’s sixth-largest domestic operator. It has jumped one place year-over-year due to the now-defunct Spirit Airlines. Despite Spirit’s cessation, Allegiant’s share is the same year-over-year. That’s due to the strong growth of many other operators, especially Breeze Airways (+44% more Florida flights in a year), Frontier Airlines (+40%), and JetBlue (+32%). To massively varying degrees, they have expanded, in part, because of Spirit’s demise.
Allegiant plans 282 Florida routes between June and September. 280 are interstate, while two are within the state. 78 airports outside Florida have service to the Sunshine State. Cincinnati has the most departures, followed by Asheville, Knoxville, Allentown, and Belleville (for Greater St. Louis).

Comparing Allegiant’s Florida network between June and September 2025 with what’s available in the same months in 2026 shows that 27 routes have been added. 11 launched or started last year, while 16 did so at some point between January and June 2026. Three of the 27 additions existed until April or May 2025, paused, and returned in October or November that same year. While they did not operate between June and September 2025, they will do so in the same period this year.
Allegiant is renowned for starting nonstop flights where they did not previously exist. Brand-new markets are always particularly noteworthy. Examining the previous schedules of all 27 airport pairs shows that 13 — nearly half — have not been served by any airline before.
Eight of the 27 airport pairs were previously in Allegiant’s network. They last saw the carrier sometime between 2008 and 2024. For the most part, they have been unserved since then. However, exceptions include Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Chattanooga, which Spirit operated from 2025 until that carrier’s demise in 2026.
Frontier served FLL-Trenton until 2024, Spirit flew between FLL and Atlantic City for years until 2026, and so on. United Airlines operated from Denver to Destin-Fort Walton Beach until 2022, with that market served by Allegiant in May 2026 and Southwest Airlines the following month.
Given Allegiant’s penchant for less congested and lower-cost alternative airports, along with small and medium-sized cities, it is hardly surprising that so many markets have not had flights before. They are shown in the following table. They include Columbia (Missouri) and La Cross, which are new cities in Allegiant’s network. Meanwhile, Allegiant returned to Huntsville last year, having previously flown there until 2008.
Things would be a bit different if city pairs were explored instead. For example, while Allegiant operates between Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) and Atlantic City for the first time, Orlando International Airport (MCO) has had service to the New Jersey destination for many years. Spirit operated until early 2026, and has just been replaced by Breeze. Various other examples exist.
Brand-New Route; No Airline Operated Them Before Allegiant’s Arrival
Sarasota to Albany (this route didn’t operate between June and September 2025, but will do so in 2026, hence being included)
Fort Myers to Allentown, Appleton, Des Moines
Key West to Columbus Rickenbacker, SFB to La Crosse
SFB to Columbia (Missouri), Destin-Fort Walton Beach to Columbia (Missouri)
