The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense announced that two unmanned aerial vehicles reportedly launched from Iran were neutralized by air defense systems. The statement, issued at a time of ongoing security tensions in the region, once again demonstrated that the alert level in Gulf airspace remains high.
In the statement released by the ministry, it was noted that aerial threats continue to be monitored through early detection systems and that the targets were destroyed before posing any threat to the country’s airspace. While no technical details regarding the operation were disclosed, it was stated that no casualties or injuries occurred during the incident.

The data shared by the UAE Ministry of Defense revealed the scale of the aerial threat facing the region. Since the beginning of the Iranian attacks, air defense systems have neutralized:
- 551 ballistic missiles
- 29 cruise missiles
- 2,265 unmanned aerial vehicles
The announced figures show that low-cost and heavily utilized UAV attacks are becoming an increasingly critical security issue for Gulf countries. Experts note that in modern conflicts, air defense systems are now required to operate continuously not only against missiles but also against swarm-style kamikaze drones.
