Kerem Sarp, the General Manager of AJet, stated that they currently fly to 52 international destinations in approximately 32 countries. He mentioned, “Initially, we aim to increase the number of countries from 32 to 43 by 2025, and to 50 by 2033.”
Sarp made remarks about the company’s operations and objectives. He explained that they applied to transition from Anadolu Jet to AJet in August 2023 and have been working intensively to meet certain international civil aviation requirements.
Differences Between AJet and Turkish Airlines
Kerem Sarp emphasized that AJet is completely different from Turkish Airlines (THY) in terms of mentality and work culture, noting that AJet operates as a low-cost airline. AJet has created its own identity with counters separate from THY and its own organizational structures both domestically and internationally.
“We Aim to Reach 150 Aircraft Before 2025”
Sarp also addressed AJet’s digitalization goals, stating that they plan to reach the same level of digitalization as other low-cost airlines in the industry by the end of October. He mentioned that new aircraft will be added to the fleet to maintain a younger fleet age, aiming to exceed 150 aircraft by 2028 and 200 thereafter.
New Routes and Growth
Providing information about new routes, Sarp announced that AJet plans to launch flights to European, Middle Eastern, and North African destinations within 5-5.5 hours from Sabiha Gökçen Airport. He also stated that AJet aims for an annual growth rate of 16% in international flights and 6% in domestic flights over a 10-year period.
Kerem Sarp highlighted that the increase in capacity will reduce prices and that AJet will play a significant role in the aviation sector in this regard. He also noted that AJet, as a separate legal entity, has been more successful in obtaining permissions abroad.
Service Standards and Passenger Satisfaction
General Manager Sarp expressed the goal of raising service standards and enhancing passenger satisfaction. AJet plans to exceed the standards offered by other low-cost airlines in the industry and aims to become a model airline by improving on-time departure rates.
