Load Balance Problem and Passenger Crisis on Bingöl-Ankara Flight: 20 passengers were asked to voluntarily disembark from the aircraft

On AJet’s Bingöl–Ankara flight, 20 passengers were asked to leave the aircraft due to hot weather conditions and a load imbalance. The flight came close to being cancelled after one passenger resisted, and the crisis was resolved with a three-hour delay.

Tense moments unfolded on an AJet aircraft scheduled to operate the Bingöl–Ankara route due to a delay and a load balance problem.

The plane, which was due to depart Bingöl Airport at 13:30, had already arrived late in Bingöl, causing the service to start with a delay. However, due to the large-bodied aircraft, hot weather conditions, and a weight imbalance, problems arose during take-off. As a result, 20 passengers were asked to disembark voluntarily.

During this time, physical contact occurred between one passenger and the ground operations chief. Following a report of the incident, police officers boarded the plane. When the passenger in question refused to leave, the captain decided to cancel the flight for safety reasons.

After police intervention, the passenger was removed from the aircraft. Authorities later imposed a five-year flight ban on the individual. Meanwhile, tickets of passengers who had voluntarily disembarked were rescheduled to later dates, and the luggage was forwarded on a Diyarbakır service.

Following these developments, the aircraft, originally scheduled to depart at 13:30, eventually took off for Ankara at 16:30 after a delay of around three hours. (bingolguncel)
