In May, Airbus saw a 16% drop in aircraft deliveries, managing to deliver only 53 aircraft. This represents a decrease compared to the same month last year. Airbus reported that from January 1, the total number of aircraft delivered has reached 256.
Airbus has set a target of 800 deliveries for the entire year of 2024. Jefferies analyst Chloe Lemarie described the 53 delivery figure as a “setback.” Lemarie noted that the numerous weekday holidays in France, where Airbus operates two of its eight narrow-body assembly lines, impacted May’s delivery numbers. She emphasized that Airbus will need to make “significant compensations” to achieve steady deliveries in this quarter.
So far this year, Airbus has sold a net total of 237 aircraft. These figures indicate that Airbus will need to intensify its efforts in the coming months to increase deliveries and meet its annual targets.
