The spirit of 23 April spreads across the world with special gifts for children and a global flight network
While welcoming children with meaningful gifts on 23 April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, İGA Istanbul Airport is spreading the legacy of this unique holiday to the world through its global flight network. Offering flights to more than 340 destinations across over 140 countries in cooperation with more than 100 airlines worldwide, İGA Istanbul Airport enables children from different geographies to experience the spirit of the holiday.
The Companion of the Most Beautiful Discoveries: CIGA
CIGA, the special mascot character of İGA Istanbul Airport for children, transforms the airport experience into a fun discovery by establishing a warm and sincere connection with children. With its curious and energetic nature, CIGA acts as a guide that makes travel easier and accompanies young passengers with specially prepared gift sets on 23 April.
The set, which also includes an interactive colouring book where children can record their travel experiences, features four different storybooks inspired by the play areas at İGA Istanbul Airport, inviting children to embark on various adventures with CIGA:
- Glacier: A journey introducing polar animals, focused on nature and love for animals
- Forest: A green world exploration that instils awareness of protecting nature
- Space: An imaginative adventure across planets and galaxies
- Sea: An opportunity to discover the richness and creatures of the underwater world
İGA Istanbul Airport, which has been awarded “The World’s Most Family-Friendly Airport” by prestigious institutions such as Skytrax and Global Traveler in 2022, 2023 and most recently 2025, continues to operate as a ‘living experience space’ with services such as free strollers, fast track access for families, themed play areas and baby care rooms.
Note: Passengers travelling with their children can receive the ‘free’ gift sets distributed at the information desks located opposite gates 2 and 5 in the terminal building between 20–24 April.
