An Embraer ERJ-145 registered as N942JX and operated by Private Jet Charter Services, landed at Houston Hobby Airport with 31 passengers onboard for flight XE-284 from Dallas to Houston.
However, upon reaching low speed on the runway, the left main landing gear collapsed rearward, causing the aircraft to veer left on the runway and come to a stop. One crew member sustained minor injuries, while passengers disembarked without injuries. The aircraft sustained significant damage.
A passenger mentioned, “There were no indications of any problems before landing, but a significant jolt was felt during the landing, and a flight attendant made an announcement to ‘heads down, brace for impact’.”
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced that an investigation into the incident will be conducted.
