An axe attack was carried out on a C-130 military aircraft at Shannon Airport in Ireland. Following the incident, the airport was temporarily closed and the attacker was taken into custody.
According to claims, a US Air Force C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft parked at Shannon Airport in County Clare, Ireland, was attacked with an axe. The aircraft sustained damage to its wing and fuselage.
According to information reported by local source The Journal, the C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft, belonging to the US Air Force and valued at approximately $75 million, was attacked while parked in a restricted area of Shannon Airport.
It was alleged that a man, believed to be in his 40s and whose identity has not yet been determined, breached security, entered the area where the aircraft was located, and then climbed onto the wing and carried out the attack with an axe.
Allegation of Severe Damage to the Aircraft
It was claimed that the attacker climbed onto the wing of the aircraft and damaged the fuselage and wing sections with an axe, resulting in serious damage. Following the incident, the airport was closed to air traffic for approximately 30 minutes.
Detention Process
After the attack, teams from the Irish police, Garda Síochána, were dispatched to the scene. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after, and an investigation into the incident was launched.
