Providing significant contributions to the defense industry in the field of energy, ASPİLSAN Enerji expands its production activities and develops battery solutions for both military and civilian platforms. The company is capable of production across a wide range, from handheld and backpack radios to combat vehicles, and from aircraft and helicopters to unmanned aerial vehicles.
A Domestic Energy Signature on Critical Platforms
Battery systems developed by ASPİLSAN Enerji are used in many critical platforms, primarily KAAN, HÜRJET, and HÜRKUŞ aircraft, as well as GÖKBEY and ATAK-2 helicopters, and ANKA and AKSUNGUR unmanned aerial vehicles.
A 45-Year Strategic Journey
ASPİLSAN Enerji General Manager Ahmet Turan Özdemir stated that the company was established in 1981 with donations from philanthropists from Kayseri and was brought into the Turkish Armed Forces.
Özdemir emphasized that the embargoes imposed after the Cyprus Peace Operation formed the main motivation for domestic battery production and highlighted that the company was established in line with this need.
Emphasis on Technology and Independence
While the company’s production journey started with nickel-cadmium batteries, it continues today with lithium-ion technologies. With new investments commissioned as of 2022, ASPİLSAN aims to become not only a manufacturer but also a global player that develops technology.
Energy Independence as a Strategic Priority
Özdemir stated that energy independence is one of the fundamental elements of a strong defense infrastructure and drew attention to the risks of external dependency. He emphasized that global developments have increased the importance of energy security and highlighted the critical role of domestic and national production.

Özdemir noted that ASPİLSAN Enerji not only meets current needs but also focuses on growth, adding that the company continues its efforts in line with its goal of creating qualified employment.
While ASPİLSAN Enerji continues to meet the strategic energy needs of the defense industry, it also maintains an active role in critical projects in line with Türkiye’s goal of energy independence.
