Manitoba RCMP say two people are in hospital after a small plane drove off the runway at the Portage la Prairie Airport.
Mounties say the incident happened around 4:10 p.m. on Sept. 20 during an airshow.
Reports indicate that the plane malfunctioned, and the pilot aborted the take-off and tried to bring the aircraft to a safe stop; however, it rolled off the runway and into a ditch.
The pilot — a 61-year-old man — and the passenger — a 54-year-old woman — were taken to hospital in Portage la Prairie with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has also been informed of the matter.
