Turkish Airlines (THY) once again became Turkey’s leader in service exports at the “2024 Champions of Service Exports” award ceremony organised by the Service Exporters’ Association (HİB). At the ceremony hosted by HİB Chairman Şekib Avdagiç and attended by Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat and Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) Chairman Mustafa Gültepe, the award was received on behalf of THY by Chairman of the Board Ahmet Bolat.

“This achievement is an important part of Turkey’s global vision”
Commenting at the award ceremony, THY Chairman of the Board Ahmet Bolat stated that the success strengthens Turkey’s position in global service exports and said:
“This award is a valuable part of a great story that strengthens Turkey’s place in global service exports. As Turkish Airlines, the strong and sustainable contribution we make to our country’s economy is a source of pride for us.”

THY doubles its service exports in 5 years
Bolat shared striking figures regarding THY’s contribution to the Turkish economy:
In 2019, THY generated 10 billion USD in service exports and provided 4.4 billion USD in net foreign currency inflow.
By the end of 2024, it increased its service exports to 18 billion USD and its net foreign currency contribution to 9 billion USD.
Within its 2033 vision, the company aims to reach over 800 aircraft and increase its service exports to 44 billion USD and its net foreign currency inflow to 20 billion USD.

“We carry Turkey’s values to 131 countries”
Bolat emphasised that Turkish Airlines is not only an airline but also Turkey’s gateway to the global stage:
“With our flight network covering 131 countries worldwide, we carry our country’s culture, products, and story. We do more than service exports; we provide multi-dimensional support to the Turkish economy through the contributions we offer to our exporters.”

Awards for THY subsidiaries as well
At the ceremony, Turkish Airlines’ subsidiary companies were also awarded in their respective categories:
- Turkish Technic
- TGS Ground Services
- SunExpress
Bolat thanked all employees, business partners, exporters, and the millions of passengers who trust THY for their contributions to these achievements.
