Uniworld to Debut 3 New Ships in 2028

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises will debut three new ships in 2028—the S.S. Helen on the Danube, the S.S. Clara on the Rhine and the Mekong Mystique, bringing the fleet to a total of 22 ships (four new ships are slated to start sailing in 2027). Each draws inspiration from the art, history and culture of the region it sails in. Sailings are open for booking.

Named after the legendary Helen of Troy, the S.S. Helen draws inspiration from Greek culture and Mediterranean design, with interiors reflecting nature, timeless architecture and the Greek concept of philoxenia, or warm hospitality. Sailing the Danube, the ship will operate itineraries including the 15-day Danube Grandeur, which visits six countries and features stops in European capitals, historic villages and scenic river destinations.

Expanding Uniworld’s Southeast Asia fleet alongside the Mekong Jewel, the Mekong Mystique features interiors inspired by Indochine design, blending European architectural details with natural materials that reflect the landscapes and cultures of Vietnam and Cambodia. The ship will exclusively operate the line’s 15-day Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong itinerary, featuring visits to floating markets, ancient temples and local communities along the Mekong River.

“This is one of the most significant periods of investment and growth in Uniworld’s history,” says Ellen Bettridge, President and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruises. “As demand for immersive travel continues to grow, every new ship we build allows us to continue raising the bar for luxury river cruising. It’s also an opportunity to create deeper, more meaningful connections between our guests and the destinations we sail.”
