In the third quarter of 2026 (July to September), United Airlines’ frames will be seen in 375 destinations globally. The Star Alliance member flies to more airports than any other carrier globally (although not as many countries). This data is based on exploring United’s schedule submission to Cirium Diio.
United’s offering has jumped from 363 destinations in the same period last year. The airline has added 17 airports to its map, whether brand-new or simply returning, which is the subject of this article. However, while served in Q3 2025, flights no longer exist five places.
United Has Added These Seven International Markets
Comparing what was available in Q3 last year with Q3 2026 shows that United’s aircraft are now seen in the following international cities. Most were notable. For example, Tepic, in Mexico, has not previously had US flights by any carrier. Meanwhile, United was the first North American airline to fly to Bari, Santiago de Compostela, and Split. Given Neos has ended flights from Bari to New York JFK, United provides the only long-haul operation to these three European destinations.
The US Department of Transportation (DOT) shows that only Bangkok, Glasgow, and Ho Chi Minh City have previously been served by the airline. United flew to the capital of Thailand until 2014, when it operated daily via Tokyo Narita on the Boeing 747-400 and, at times, the 777-200ER. Flights existed to Glasgow until 2019, when the 757-200ER was used. Ho Chi Minh City saw United in 2016, when the 747-400 and later the 777-200ER flew daily via Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).

These Ten US Markets Have Joined United’s Map
Flights to all ten cities launched or restarted between February and July 2026. Each of them is served by United Express, and all but two of the routes use SkyWest’s 50-seat CRJ200s. These are the small, cramped, uncomfortable, and usually unpopular regional jets with renowned low ceilings.
Half of the ten cities have previously seen United on a scheduled basis. The DOT shows the exceptions are Lancaster, Lynchburg, Montgomery, Natchez, and Roswell. The most notable among these is perhaps Natchez, Mississippi, which did not have scheduled service by any airline for 30+ years until United Express’ debut. United’s arrival has doubled the number of carriers at some of the other four airports that have not previously seen the airline.

These Five Destinations Are No Longer Served In Q3
All airlines have route and airport churn, and United is no exception. Comparing Q3 2025 with Q3 2026 shows that United no longer serves Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar (DSS; served until January 2026), Dominica (switched from year-round to winter seasonal; returns in October), Dubai (due to the war in Iran; flights are due to return in October 2026), Havana (served until September 2025), and Stockholm Arlanda (served until September 2025).
United flew from IAD to DSS between May 2025 and January 2026. While this market was brand-new to the airline’s map, the DOT shows that 21,949 passengers were transported. When related to seats for sale, the load factor was just 55.8%. It was United’s second-worst-performing long-haul market in this sense.
