Two EasyJet Aircraft Collide at Manchester Airport

Two EasyJet aircraft taxiing at Manchester Airport collided wingtip to wingtip. Minor damage was reported, passengers were safely disembarked, and flights resumed shortly afterward.

An incident at Manchester Airport in the early morning resulted in two EasyJet aircraft colliding on the runway. According to an airport spokesperson, around 06:30, the wingtips of the taxiing planes made contact. No injuries were reported.

Passengers from the two planes, scheduled to fly to Paris and Gibraltar, were safely disembarked. Due to minor damage to the aircraft, airport operations were briefly halted, but flights resumed after a safety assessment was completed.

Tynisha Chaudhry, who was on the Gibraltar-bound flight at the time, compared the collision to a car accident, saying, “We felt the entire plane shake; it was a very strong impact.” Chaudhry added that numerous fire and security teams arrived at the scene. Some children and parents reportedly experienced tension while returning to the terminal.

An EasyJet spokesperson stated, “We apologise to our customers for the delay to their flights. The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority.”
