Drunken Passenger Chaos Forces Emergency Landing on Breeze Airways Flight in the U.S.

Breeze Airways Flight 704, departing from Virginia, was forced to make an emergency landing at Grand Junction Airport in Colorado. A drunk passenger, who got into an argument and managed to free himself from handcuffs twice, caused chaos on board.

At around 11:15 a.m. local time, the Grand Junction Police Department was directed to the airport following a report that the passenger had “shaken a skateboard and hurled racist insults at airline staff.”

Airline officials stated that the passenger argued with flight attendants and other passengers, was handcuffed twice, but freed himself both times. As a result of the physical altercation on board, one passenger and one flight attendant were slightly injured, although the police officially reported that no one had suffered an assault.

After the plane landed in Colorado, the passenger was taken into custody by Grand Junction police on FBI orders. According to Federal Aviation Administration data, U.S. airlines have reported over a thousand unruly passenger incidents since the beginning of this year.
