Turkish Airlines Inc. (THY) has announced that it has entered into non-binding discussions with Spain-based Air Europa Holding S.L.U. to explore potential equity acquisition and partnership opportunities, in line with its strategic growth objectives in the global aviation sector.
In a statement addressing recent news reports in various media outlets, Turkish Airlines confirmed that it is actively pursuing growth-oriented opportunities to enhance market competitiveness and strengthen its international presence. In this context, the preliminary evaluation process with Air Europa involves non-binding consultations aimed at analysing potential avenues for cooperation.
Commitment to Confidentiality and Transparency
In accordance with the Board of Directors’ resolution dated 29 May 2025, the disclosure of information that could influence investor decisions has been postponed under Article 6 of the Capital Markets Board’s Communiqué on Material Events (II-15.1), due to the uncertainties surrounding the content of the discussions and the sensitivity of the process.
The airline emphasised that all necessary measures have been meticulously implemented to ensure the protection of information and to prevent misleading investors.
New Developments Will Be Shared with the Public
It was also stated that any new and concrete developments during the process that may affect investor decisions will be disclosed to the public in a timely manner, in accordance with the principle of transparency.
