Turkish Airlines has cemented its international financial success by winning three awards at the “Airline Economics Aviation 100 European & Sustainability Awards” ceremony held in London.
Turkish Airlines (THY) has been honoured in three categories at the Airline Economics Aviation 100 European & Sustainability Awards, one of the most prestigious financial awards in the global aviation industry.
At the ceremony held in London, the airline received the awards for “European Deal of the Year”, “European Guaranteed Financing Deal of the Year”, and “Sustainable Aviation Financing Deal of the Year”.
The flag carrier won the “European Deal of the Year” award for its Islamic finance leasing transaction in Swiss francs, conducted in cooperation with Dubai Islamic Bank for an Airbus A350 aircraft. In addition, two Airbus A350 aircraft financed through the “Balthazar” guaranteed JOLCO structure in Japanese yen, arranged by the Natixis & ORIX consortium, earned THY the “European Guaranteed Financing Deal of the Year” award.
In 2024, Turkish Airlines added two Airbus A321neo aircraft to its fleet through a JOLCO financing structure arranged by the Société Générale consortium, denominated in euros and Japanese yen. This achievement secured the airline the “Sustainable Aviation Financing Deal of the Year” award.
The awards were presented to Assoc. Prof. Murat Şeker, Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and Chief Financial Officer of Turkish Airlines.
