Turkish Airlines (THY) has announced that it will compensate for the losses incurred due to operational issues caused by the engines of its Airbus A320/321 NEO aircraft. The decision was made by the Board of Directors, and the Purchase and Maintenance agreements with International Aero Engines, LLC (IAE) will be revised to address these losses.
Agreement Reached for Engine Issues
The operational issues with the PW1100G-JM engines on THY’s A320/321 NEO aircraft have caused significant losses for the airline. To mitigate the impact of these problems, THY and IAE have reviewed their agreements and reached a settlement to compensate for THY’s losses.
In an official statement, THY said, “Based on the decision made by our Board of Directors, we have reached an agreement with International Aero Engines, LLC (IAE) to revise the Purchase and Maintenance agreements for the PW1100G-JM engines on our A320/321 NEO aircraft in order to mitigate the impact of operational issues and compensate for the resulting losses.”
