As part of its global growth strategy, Turkish Airlines (THY) has launched a new recruitment process for experienced narrow-body aircraft pilots. Candidates are expected to meet specific technical and general qualifications.
Application Requirements and General Qualifications
Applications will be evaluated for foreign pilot candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Age: Born on or after January 1, 1974.
- Education: Minimum high school graduate.
- Disciplinary Record: No penalties due to flight failure or disciplinary violations.
- Clean Record: No criminal record or criminal archive record.
- Residency: Must agree to relocate to a base designated by Turkish Airlines.
- Employment History: Must not have been dismissed from Turkish Airlines or any other organization due to disciplinary reasons or contract termination.
Technical Requirements
Candidates are expected to have the following technical qualifications:
- License: EASA/FAA/ICAO CPL/IR (A) holders must have an ATPL theoretical credit or a valid type rating for B737 aircraft.
- Flight Experience:
- At least 1,500 total hours on B737 aircraft (1,000 hours for EASA license holders).
- Minimum of 250 hours on B737 within the last 12 months.
- Language Proficiency: Minimum ICAO English Level 4.
Health Requirements
Candidates must provide medical documentation verifying their fitness for flight duties:
- Fitness Certification: A health report approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
- Additional Examinations: Additional health assessments may be conducted per Turkish Airlines’ internal procedures.
Note: Turkish Airlines reserves the right to make the final decision regarding employment, even if candidates meet all health requirements.
Evaluation Process
The recruitment process is designed to assess candidates’ professional and technical competencies through several stages:
- Document Review: Verification of licenses, diplomas, and passports.
- English Test: Language proficiency exam for non-native English speakers.
- Group Assessment: Evaluation of non-technical pilot competencies.
- Simulator Test: Comprehensive assessment of flight skills.
- Panel Interview: Technical and experience-based discussion with HR specialists and captain pilots.
- Medical Evaluation: Detailed health examination at a center designated by Turkish Airlines.
