Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated Türkiye’s global strength in civil aviation and the sector’s future vision at Turkish Airlines’ (THY) Management Summit. Minister Uraloğlu emphasised that today THY has one of the most extensive networks in the history of global civil aviation, with a flight network reaching 356 destinations in 133 countries.
Noting that this journey, which began with only 60 international destinations, has taken on a new dimension with the opening of the Phnom Penh route, Uraloğlu underlined that Türkiye has become a global hub in aviation.
Stating that 91 international aviation negotiations carried out over the past four years have yielded tangible results, Uraloğlu said that in this process the boundaries of the skies were lifted with 22 new destinations and 1,071 additional frequencies. Thanks to increased connectivity, Türkiye’s global access power has been further strengthened.
Emphasising that the fruits of strong infrastructure and strategic moves are also reflected in passenger numbers, Uraloğlu announced that 247 million 163 thousand passengers were safely carried in 2025, marking an all-time passenger record in the history of the Republic. He stated that this success is the result of the collective effort and vision demonstrated as a nation.
Minister Uraloğlu concluded his statement with the following words:
“We are determined to give wings to Turkish civil aviation with a safe, innovative and sustainable vision, and to expand our star-and-crescent route in the world’s skies day by day.”
