Turkish Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Baku Due to Passenger Death

A Turkish Airlines flight, TK 714, en route from Istanbul to Lahore, made an emergency landing in Baku, Azerbaijan, following the death of a passenger.

The Airbus A330, operating the Istanbul-Lahore flight, was scheduled to land at Pakistan’s Allama Iqbal International Airport at 04:35. However, while in Azerbaijani airspace, a passenger’s health deteriorated rapidly. The cabin crew noticed the situation and informed the pilot, who requested permission for an emergency medical landing from Baku Air Traffic Control.

Passenger Could Not Be Saved Despite Emergency Medical Intervention

After receiving permission for an emergency landing, the aircraft safely landed at Baku Airport. Medical teams immediately attended to the passenger upon landing, but unfortunately, the passenger was declared deceased. After the examination, the body was handed over to the airline authorities.

Flight Delayed

Due to this tragic incident, the flight was delayed in Baku for approximately two and a half hours before resuming its journey to Lahore. The delay resulted in the flight arriving in Lahore about three and a half hours later than scheduled, also affecting the return flight plan.
