Turkish Airlines has announced the Take-Off Cadet (Second Officer Trainee) Program, offering young talents a chance to kickstart their aviation careers. This program aims to contribute to training qualified pilots for the rapidly growing airline industry.
The Take-Off Cadet Program is specially designed for recent graduates. Candidates who meet the criteria set by Turkish Airlines can participate in this training. Those who succeed will undergo 15-18 months of theoretical and practical training. After the training process, candidates will join a 3-6 month type rating training at Turkish Airlines or its partner flight academies.
General Requirements of the Program
Applicants for the Take-Off Cadet Program must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a Turkish citizen or hold a blue card.
- Must have at least a bachelor’s degree (from formal or distance education).
- Must be born between January 1, 1994, and December 31, 2003.
- Height must be between 160 cm and 195 cm, with a body mass index between 20 and 30.
- Military service must be completed or deferred for at least 2 years.
- Must have no criminal record and not have been dismissed from any prior positions due to disciplinary reasons.
- Must not have participated in any pilot training programs before.
Language Requirements
Candidates must provide proof of achieving the following minimum scores in one of the English language tests within the past two years from the application date:
- TOEFL (IBT): 60 (speaking: min. 18)
- IELTS (Academic or General): 6 (speaking: min. 6)
- PTE (Academic): 46 (speaking: min. 46)
Candidates who cannot provide a language certificate will have the opportunity to take an online English test conducted by Turkish Airlines.
Health Requirements
Candidates must be in good health and fit for flying. Those who pass the selection process must have their medical reports approved by Turkish Airlines from authorized health institutions before starting employment. During the medical examination, candidates are required to accurately declare their medical history.
Application Process
Applications will only be accepted online. Candidates must submit a transcript proving their bachelor’s degree through e-government services. Successful candidates will receive a job offer and the recruitment process will be finalized.

Applications for the Take-Off Cadet Program will close on October 25, 2024. Through this program, Turkish Airlines aims to bring young talent into the aviation industry and shape a strong future in the field.
