Turkish Airlines (THY) is expanding its flight network to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Effective July 17, 2026, the number of weekly flights on the Istanbul–Dhaka route will increase from 7 to 9, with the additional services operated by wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
THY Increases Capacity on the Istanbul–Dhaka Route: Weekly Flights Rise to 9
As part of its strategy to strengthen its South Asia operations, Turkish Airlines (THY) is increasing the number of flights to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Under the new flight schedule, the airline will raise the number of weekly flights on the Istanbul–Dhaka route from 7 to 9, effective July 17, 2026. The increased capacity will provide passengers with more flight options.
Two Additional Weekly Flights on the Istanbul–Dhaka Route
According to THY’s updated schedule, two additional weekly frequencies will be added to flights between Istanbul and Dhaka. The additional services will be operated by Airbus A330-300 wide-body passenger aircraft.
The capacity increase is intended to support passenger demand between Bangladesh and Türkiye, as well as global connecting services offered via Istanbul.

To Continue During the Winter Schedule
Turkish Airlines’ planned capacity increase will not be limited to the summer season.
The airline plans to maintain its weekly 9-flight operation on the Istanbul–Dhaka route during the winter schedule, which begins on October 25, 2026. It was stated that only the operating days will be adjusted during the winter season, while the increased capacity will be maintained.

The increase in frequencies on the Dhaka route stands out as one of the key steps in Turkish Airlines’ growth strategy in the South Asia market.
Positioning Istanbul as a global transfer hub, THY aims to further strengthen connection options from Bangladesh to destinations across Europe, North America, Africa, and the Middle East through the increased flight frequencies.
