In his speech at the 34th Annual Congress of the Airports Council International Europe, Turkish Airlines CEO Bilal Ekşi highlighted that the airline has the world’s largest flight network. Ekşi noted that they fly to 347 destinations in 130 countries, serving 121 points in 42 countries across Europe. Celebrating its 90th anniversary last year, the company has continuously expanded its flight network since 2003 and aims to reach 400 destinations by 2033. Additionally, Ekşi mentioned plans to increase their fleet size, stating that they started with 65 aircraft in 2003, currently operate 440 aircraft, and aim to expand to 813 aircraft by 2033.
TAV Airports Increases Passenger Numbers
TAV Airports CEO Serkan Kaptan announced that they served 96 million passengers at 15 airports in 2023. Kaptan emphasized that TAV operates airports not only in Turkey but also in Latvia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan, highlighting the company’s ongoing international growth.
Pegasus Shares Operational Success and Growth Goals
Pegasus CEO Güliz Öztürk, speaking at the “Turkish Aviation Market Under the Spotlight” panel, stated that Pegasus is Turkey’s second-largest airline and carried 32 million passengers last year. Öztürk spoke about the company’s extensive international flight network and their global success in operational profitability post-COVID-19, reinforcing their leadership position in the industry.
