Turkish Airlines has made a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) regarding media reports about its subsidiary, Güneş Ekspres Havacılık A.Ş. (SunExpress).
In the statement, it was noted that the reports claiming Turkish Airlines was in talks to purchase all of SunExpress’s shares do not reflect the truth.
The company underlined that there is no such initiative in this regard.
The statement included the following remarks:
“The news published in various media outlets suggesting that our Company is in negotiations to acquire all shares of Güneş Ekspres Havacılık A.Ş. (SunExpress), in which we hold a 50% stake, do not reflect the truth. Our Company has no such initiative.
SunExpress continues its successful operations as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines Inc. and Lufthansa A.G., and there is no change in its partnership structure.”
Turkish Airlines concluded its statement with the phrase: “Respectfully announced to the public.”
