Turkish Airlines (THY) proudly celebrates the 60th anniversary of its flights to Belgium. THY General Manager Bilal Ekşi shared his sentiments on this special occasion, expressing the pride they feel in being one of Europe’s leading airlines in terms of passenger numbers. Ekşi emphasized THY’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
THY operates 38 weekly flights from Belgium to Turkey, and with its expanding fleet, continues to provide uninterrupted connections to over 300 destinations in more than 120 countries worldwide.
Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Durmuş Ünüvar, highlighted that the first flight 60 years ago connected cultures, families, and businesses. Ünüvar noted the role of aviation in supporting economic and social progress and mentioned initiatives to enhance economic and commercial relations between Turkey and Belgium.
THY Luxembourg Director and Acting Brussels Director Alper Kaşıkçı remarked on the special atmosphere of the event and expressed heartfelt thanks to the participants. The program was attended by Turkey’s Permanent Representative to the EU, Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, as well as numerous politicians, businesspeople, civil society representatives, and senior executives.
