A Boeing 777-300 aircraft registered as TC-JJM and operated by Turkish Airlines (THY) experienced an emergency during its TK-35 flight from Istanbul to Montreal, Canada. While cruising at FL320 altitude over Poland, approximately 150 nautical miles northeast of Vienna, smoke was detected in the cabin.
The pilots noticed smoke in the cabin due to a technical issue in one of the galleys and decided to make an emergency landing. They immediately reported the situation to the authorities and landed the plane safely on runway 16 at Vienna Airport about 50 minutes later.
The THY aircraft remained on the ground in Vienna for approximately 17 hours before returning to Istanbul after completing technical checks. A detailed investigation into the incident has been initiated.
