Between 2024 and 2029, Turkish Airlines will be the main sponsor of the Stone Hills Project, including the welcome center and research center’s naming rights. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated, “I believe that the collaboration between Turkish Airlines and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will continue to increase.”
Speaking at the sponsorship signing ceremony, Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat said, “We are paying special attention to the promotion of Stone Hills and are working to promote Turkey globally. We are proud to announce Turkish Airlines as the sponsor of the Stone Hills project. We will continue to contribute to the long-term Stone Hills project together.”
Minister Ersoy added, “The Stone Hills project is one of the leading projects under the legacy to the future initiative. Last year, we were the country with the most annual rescue excavations in Turkey. We aim to increase this number in 2024.”
Continuing his speech, Minister Ersoy said, “With the Stone Hills project, we expanded what was previously known as the Gobeklitepe project to a much wider area. It is considered the most comprehensive archaeological project in Turkey. Emphasizing the importance of the agreement with Turkish Airlines, he noted that this sponsorship is also of great significance for tourism.”
At the end of the program, the agreement was signed by both parties, followed by a photo session for the press. The event continued with the “Connect To Türkiye” event.
