“Advanced Recycling with Accessible Designs Project” by Turkish Airlines and the Ministry – Waste Products Turned into Social Benefit
Turkish Airlines (THY) and the Ministry of Family and Social Services have combined their social responsibility and sustainability vision to launch the “Advanced Recycling with Accessible Designs Project.” Through this initiative, end-of-life in-flight products will be repurposed by individuals with special needs, nursing home residents, and citizens receiving services from ADEM (Family Support Centers) and SODAM (Social Solidarity Centers).
Social and Environmental Impact
Products delivered safely by Turkish Airlines to Ministry-affiliated centers will be redesigned according to institutional standards. These items, which have completed their journey in the skies, will be sold for social benefit, contributing to sustainability efforts while promoting the inclusion of individuals with special needs and elderly citizens in society.
Signing Ceremony
The project was announced at a ceremony held at the Turkish Airlines Headquarters. Attendees included Turkish Airlines Chairman and CEO Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat and Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş.
