Tourism Cooperation Between Turkey and Bulgaria is Growing

At the opening of the “Bulgaria – Discover and Share” tourism forum held in Istanbul, Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev expressed his belief in the great potential to increase the exchange of tourists between the two countries.

Popular Winter Tourism Destinations

Minister Miloshev highlighted that Bulgaria’s winter tourism destinations, such as Bansko, are well-known in Turkey. He shared that from December 1, 2023, to March 25, 2024, a total of 53,000 Turkish tourists visited Bulgaria.

Joint Tourism Products and Routes

In a meeting with representatives from the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, Miloshev emphasized the need for joint tourism products between Turkey and Bulgaria. He noted, “Creating joint tourism routes based on shared history, culture, and culinary traditions benefits both countries.”

Winter Tourism Promotion Preparations

Ahead of the winter season, preparations are underway for a tour that will introduce Bulgaria’s winter and spa tourism opportunities to Turkish tour operators, travel agencies, and media outlets. This tour will include visits to Borovets, Bansko, and Pamporovo.

Collaboration with Turkish Airlines

During a meeting with Turkish Airlines representatives, Miloshev discussed attracting more Turkish tourists, as well as those from destinations like China and Japan, to Bulgaria. Turkish Airlines expressed readiness to promote Bulgaria as part of a joint tourism initiative with Turkey.
