Focusing on securing air superiority in the ongoing civil war in Sudan, the Sudanese Army carried out a critical operation near South Kordofan.
According to obtained information, the Bayraktar AKINCI Armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) destroyed with a precision strike the Chinese-made FK-2000 Air Defense System actively used by RSF (Rapid Support Forces) elements.

The FK-2000 is known as a point air defense system integrating anti-aircraft guns and surface-to-air missiles (SAM), developed particularly against UAVs and cruise missiles.
It is assessed that the system, reported to have a maximum range of 25 kilometers, was struck by AKINCI from a longer distance.
Precision Destruction with ROKETSAN Munitions
According to information obtained by SavunmaSanayiST.com, ROKETSAN-produced munitions were used in the operation. Based on the level of damage observed on the target, it is stated that MAM-L and MAM-T munitions may have been used.
The Imaging Infrared (IIR) and TV Seeker Head capabilities integrated into ROKETSAN’s MAM-L and MAM-T munitions provide high precision, particularly in the destruction of air defense systems.

The destruction of the FK-2000 — whose primary mission is to neutralize aerial elements and unmanned systems — by a UCAV once again brought the DEAD/SEAD (Destruction/Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) capabilities of Turkish UAV/UCAV platforms to the forefront.
Experts assess that this development demonstrates that Turkish defense industry products in the Sudan theater can be used effectively not only for reconnaissance and intelligence but also directly against high-technology defense systems.
