The Turkish Airline Pilots Association (TALPA) continues its significant efforts regarding pilots’ long-awaited request for a special passport and professional legislative regulations. In this context, the TALPA Board of Directors met with Trabzon MP, Chairman of the Public Works and Zoning Commission, and former Minister of Transport, Adil Karaismailoğlu.

Special Passport Request Back on the Agenda

During the meeting, the draft law prepared in 2020 through TALPA’s initiatives, which has been awaiting parliamentary commission approval for five years, was brought back into discussion. TALPA emphasized that a special passport would significantly reduce bureaucratic obstacles pilots face during international travel and business visits. It was also highlighted that this measure would not only benefit pilots but also enhance Turkey’s prestige in the international aviation sector.

Professional Legislation and Challenges Addressed

The discussion went beyond the passport issue, covering pilots’ professional challenges and potential solutions. TALPA stressed the urgent need for the implementation of professional legal regulations to help the aviation industry tackle existing difficulties and provide pilots with a more efficient working environment.
