SunExpress has launched direct flights between Antalya and the Czech city of Ostrava. The services will operate twice a week until the end of October.
As part of its strategy to expand its European flight network, SunExpress has added Ostrava, the third-largest city in the Czech Republic, to its direct flight network departing from Antalya. The airline officially launched its scheduled services between Antalya and Ostrava as of May 23.
Thanks to the new route operated by SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, direct transportation has now been established from Antalya, Türkiye’s tourism hub, to Ostrava Leos Janacek Airport. The new flights are expected to boost tourism traffic, especially during the summer season.
Antalya–Ostrava Flights to Operate Twice Weekly
According to the statement made by SunExpress, Antalya–Ostrava flights will be operated with two frequencies per week until the end of October.
Under the new route, flights will be operated on:
- Wednesday and Saturday.
With the introduction of direct flights, passengers are expected to enjoy shorter and transfer-free travel, while the route is anticipated to attract strong demand, particularly during the holiday season.
SunExpress Expands Its Czechia Flight Network
In addition to the Ostrava route, SunExpress continues its flights to Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The airline currently operates:
- Daily direct flights from Antalya to Prague, and two weekly direct flights from Izmir to Prague.
The company aims to strengthen tourism and air transportation connections between Türkiye and the Czech Republic through its expanding route network.
European Market Presence in Antalya Tourism Grows Stronger
The new Ostrava route is considered one of the important steps increasing Antalya’s accessibility within the European tourism market. Newly launched direct connections are contributing to regional tourism mobility, especially during a period of rising holiday demand from Central Europe to Türkiye.
Industry representatives emphasize that direct flights provide significant opportunities not only for tourism, but also for trade, cultural interaction, and regional economic activity.
