SunExpress Carried 16 Million Passengers in 2025: Revenue Reached 2.1 Billion Euros

SunExpress, operating as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, carried approximately 16 million passengers in 2025, achieving 7 percent growth compared to the previous year. The airline’s revenue increased by 5.4 percent, reaching 2.1 billion Euros.

One of the key airline companies in Turkish tourism, SunExpress announced its operational and financial results for 2025. The airline, operating as a joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, carried approximately 16 million passengers in 2025, achieving 7 percent growth compared to the previous year.

During the same period, the company’s total revenue also increased. The airline generated 2.1 billion Euros (approximately 93.7 billion TL) in revenue in 2025, achieving a revenue increase of 5.4 percent compared to the previous year.

15 new international routes added

Expanding its flight network during the 2025 summer season, SunExpress added 15 new international routes to its network. The airline also increased its seat capacity by 11 percent compared to 2024 during the same period.

The company added five brand-new aircraft to its fleet in 2025 and continued its operations with a fleet of 85 aircraft, completing the year with a load factor of 82 percent.

Strong position on the Germany – Türkiye route

SunExpress maintained its position in 2025 as the airline offering the highest number of direct flights between Türkiye and German-speaking countries, particularly Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

According to tourism data, Germany ranked second among the countries sending the most tourists to Türkiye in 2025, with approximately 6.8 million visitors. Last year, nearly 4 million passengers travelling from Germany to Türkiye chose SunExpress. This figure corresponded to approximately 60 percent of the total passenger traffic on the Germany–Türkiye route.

Growth in the United Kingdom and Ireland market

The airline also continued its growth in the United Kingdom and Ireland markets. SunExpress, which entered the market in 2022, increased its seat capacity in this market fourfold within three years.

In 2025, the company carried 1.6 million passengers on routes between Türkiye and the United Kingdom and Ireland, achieving passenger growth of 19 percent in this market.
