Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises & Tours have released a collection of Christmas Market river cruise itineraries for the 2026 and 2027 holiday seasons, sailing along the Rhine, Danube and Main rivers in Europe.
“River cruising provides the perfect way to experience multiple markets and destinations in one seamless journey, allowing travelers to fully immerse themselves in the magic, culture and traditions that make Christmas in Europe so unforgettable,” said Ken Muskat, president of Scenic Group USA and LATAM, in a press statement.
Many of Europe’s holiday customs date back centuries and originated in Germany, Austria, France and Hungary. Guests sailing this season can experience those traditions firsthand while visiting some of the continent’s most celebrated Christmas markets. Along the way, travelers can browse handcrafted ornaments beneath Cologne Cathedral, sip mulled wine in Vienna’s festive squares and visit Strasbourg’s Christkindelsmarik, one of Europe’s oldest Christmas markets. Riverside villages along each route are decorated with holiday lights.
Scenic sailings operate aboard the line’s ultra-luxury Space-Ships, while Emerald Cruises sails aboard its contemporary Star-Ships.
