Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises & Tours have added river cruise itineraries for the 2026 and 2027 holiday seasons, centered on Europe’s Christmas markets and seasonal traditions along its rivers.

River cruising allows guests to wake up in a new Christmas destination each day while enjoying the comfort and ease of unpacking just once. The sailings stop in cities known for their holiday markets, including Cologne, where your clients can browse handcrafted ornaments, and Vienna, where market stalls fill the city’s squares. In Strasbourg, guests can visit the Christkindelsmarik, described as the oldest Christmas market in France. Itineraries also include mulled wine, seasonal cuisine and entertainment, along with stops in smaller villages decorated for the season. Travelers unpack once and travel between destinations aboard the ship.
New itineraries from Emerald include an 8-day sailing from Amsterdam to Basel, Switzerland, and an 8-day sailing from Munich to Budapest, Hungary. From Scenic: a 15-day sailing from Budapest to Amsterdam and an 8-day sailing from Zurich to Amsterdam.
