Scandal at Air India: Metal Knife Found in Passenger’s Meal

A recent incident involving an Air India passenger discovering a metal knife in their meal during a flight from Bangalore to San Francisco has prompted the airline to confirm the presence of a “foreign object” in the meal. The event occurred on flight AI175 operated by a Boeing 777-200LR.

An Air India spokesperson addressed the issue, explaining that the foreign object originated from the catering service’s equipment. Rajesh Dogra, Air India’s Chief Customer Experience Officer, stated, “Air India confirms that a foreign object was found in a meal served to a guest on one of our flights. Upon investigation, it was identified that the object came from the vegetable processing machine used at our catering partner’s facilities.”

In response, Air India announced plans to request stricter measures from their catering partner to prevent similar incidents in the future. These measures will include more frequent inspections of vegetable processing machines, particularly after cutting hard vegetables.

Dogra expressed Air India’s deep regret over the incident and apologized to the affected passenger. The airline has contacted the passenger to convey their sincere apologies and ensure a commitment to improved safety and service standards.
