A Su-30 fighter aircraft conducting a training flight in Russia’s northwestern Karelia region has crashed. The Russian Ministry of Defence announced that the two pilots on board lost their lives.

Karelia Governor Artur Parfyonchikov stated on Telegram that the aircraft crashed into a wooded area and that there were no casualties on the ground. It was reported that teams dispatched to the scene had taken safety measures.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the Su-30 crashed during a training flight and that both pilots were killed in the accident.
